Tps2546-q1 question consultation

1. In configuration 1111, in CDP mode, USB port is inserted into Apple mobile phone, USB cannot communicate, and apple billion USB connection cannot be used. Is it unable to communicate due to unrecognized protocol?

2. As described in the specification, if USB is not recognized in CDP mode, SDP mode will be automatically switched. Is this configuration 1110 (sdp2)?

3. When apple is inserted under sdp2, the USB connection of Apple billion connection cannot be used normally. In sdp1 mode, it can be used normally. What is the difference between sdp1 and sdp2.

Hi Kevin,

1. You should confirm all the configuration is correct due to I think it should not be any issue for Apple device under CDP mode.

2. It does not need to configure by external controller.

3. SDP2 does not have a VBUS discharge if the mode switches to CDP. SDP1 will have a VBUS discharge when it switches to any other mode.But for data line, it is same.

1. In CDP mode, apple Yilian USB still can't connect. Sdp1 mode is normal.

2. When charging, the mobile phone can't be fully charged, it can only be charged to 78%, and then it stops by itself.

Please check which configuration is wrong?

What is apple Yilian USB?

In addition, why TPS2546_EN is always low? Did you test with 2546EVM?

1. The problem of charging has been solved. It was tested several times yesterday that the battery could be charged normally. It is possible that the USB current detection (with protocol identification) may have affected the charging before.

2. But in CDP mode, easyconnection USB connection cannot be used.

Hi Kevin,

Can you capture the waveforms? Or you can add 15k resistor pull down in DP_Out and DM_out to verify.
