UCC27289: Please advise me for choosing proper product

Part Number: UCC27289
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5832, LM3488, TX7332, TIDA-010057,

Hello TI experts,

Last time I asked about LM3488, for operating 4 x TX7332 and 2 x AFE5832 based on TIDA-010057.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1003909/lm3488-can-i-adjust-the-output-voltage-of-high-power-side/3717854#3717854

at that time the expert said that LM3488 is not suitable, because the current requirement is too high, LM3488 can provide only 30mA current.

(customer wants the current over 3A.)

and he recommended half bridge solutions. and I found UCC27289, which is up to 120V and 3.5A.

here are my questions ;

1. can I make +/-100V with UCC27289?

2. can I use over 3A with this device?

3. is there any reference for operating TX7332 and AFE5832, or similar with these devices?

please check these issues. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hello Chase,

    Can you provide a block diagram or simplified schematic of the design you want to implement? The UCC27289 is a 120V rated half bridge driver with 2.5A/3.5A peak drive current but is intended to drive power switches where the average current will be low, ex <100mA average. Also the floating high side driver is rated up to 120V relative to the ground of the IC, but not rated at +/-100V which would be a 200V rated device.

    Regards,
