BQ34Z100-G1: How to use a supported ChemID

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, GPCCHEM

Hi TI experts

I have a battery pack made of 14 LiFePo4 cells.

My idea is to select the ChemID 0x400 already supported in BqStudio and then update several things like:

- number of series cells to 14

- voltsel (active) and voltage diver

I see in this forum a lot of questions about using the GPC calculator: measuring, uploading a csv file and obtaining the correct golden image.

But if I do what I plan, should I still obtain sensible results?

Thanks in advance
Juan

  • Hi Juan,

If you know the battery you are using is similar to the battery with chemID 0400 then you should get sensible results with that method. On the other hand, if you randomly selected that chemID because it is LiFePO4 then I would recommend going through the process of selecting a chemID using GPCChem because it will most likely impact how the gauging algorithm works.

    Best,
