LM25117: about synchronization

Guru 11170 points

Hello E2E,

If there are two DC/DC circuits with LM25117, can these circuits synchronization that using Low-side gate pulse connect to other RT pin?

If TI engineer needs schematic, I can provide it on private message.

  • Hello,

Theoretically it's possible, but it's not something we normally recommend as the low-side gate drive has variable duty cycle and phase positioning (it won't be 180 degrees out of phase as ideally required)

Maybe try using the same SYNC signal for both circuits (or use an inverter for the SYNC signal of the second circuit to create a 180 degree phase shift).

Note the LM5145 has SYNC in and SYNC out pins and may be a better option here.

    Regards,

    Tim
