Hi team,
My customer is using BQ25895 in their project. The VBUS comes from a 12V/1.5A adapter and the target charge current to battery is 4A. When customer test BQ25895, the Vsys is disconnected from the load and only battery charging is consuming power. Battery voltage is ~3.8V and charge current is set to 4A. But we found that the charge current can only get to 2.5A. Then we use a fan to cool down the device and the charge current can get to 2.7A but still cannot get to 4A target.
We suspect the charge current is restricted by BQ25895 heating. So do you have any layout example or guidance to better deal with BQ25895 thermal issue? A Altium designer source PCB file is proffered. Thanks.
