Hi,
we have similar problem: we need an replacement for TPS61022. We would also make redesign
on PCB. Soe we are looking for a part which can cover the 8A like TPS61022. The Low quicient current is not so important for us.
On primary side we have a super cap which can drop down to 0,7Volts. on secondary side we need to go to 3,8VDC

Do you have a proposal for a similar part for us?

Hi, we have no problem with TPS61022- it is a great product (used in different devices from us)-- but it is not availbale on market- and we need not only 100. So can you advise for a similar product? (we would do also PCB change for this)

Currently our highest OCL part is TPS61022. What is VIN/VOUT/IOUT in your application? I can promote some parts. How much volume you need?

we need 13500pcs

VIN: 0,5....2,7V

Vout: 3,8 max. 4,5Volt

Peak IOUT: 8A

In Average: 600mA

It is for a GSM Modem

Hi Andreas,

Thank you for your patience. To support 600mA continuous current for VIN ranging from 0.5V to 2.7V, and VOUT from 3.8V to 4.5VMAX. The peak current limit need to be above:

IPK=IO*VOUT_MAX/VIN_MIN/Efficiency

IO=0.6A, VOUT_MAX=4.5V, VIN_MIN=0.5V, Assume efficiency to be 75%. The IPK is 7.2A. If you need IOUT PEAK to be 8A, then you may need more than 96A. There is no boost device that can support continuous 8A with min VIN down to 0.5V now.

TPS61022 needs 1.8Vin to start up, do you have something like auxiliary source to power up device? We do not have equivalent current capability device similar to TPS61022, but i am thinking about a workaround using TPS61088/TPS61288 or TPS61089. They need auxiliary source to support lower VIN.
