Hi

How to improve efficiency TPS54360 schematic  as below 

Vin48V@159mA-->4.98V@1.167A The efficiency is about 76% TA 25c

    Hi Gareth,

    I replicated the following conditions provided on WEBENCH to get the following efficiency result of ~85%. I would recommend the following:

    • Follow WEBENCH results (link).
    • Consider reducing the switching frequency as that would help increase efficiency
    • From the schematic provided I am not sure what the value of inductor is, but make sure to use an inductor with low DCR/switching loss
    • Make sure you are measuring Vin,Vout, etc. as close as possible to the IC. Measuring techniques can make a difference
