LMQ62440-Q1: Request a schematic review

Part Number: LMQ62440-Q1

Hi, TI Support Team

A customer is considering using the LMQ62440-Q1.

Please review the circuit diagram.

In particular, please check the values of CAPACITOR and INDUCTOR.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

First off for the LM622460 the Pin 7 is only EN while Pin 6 is MODE/SYNC. If you were planning on externally synchronizing this device to a clock source it would be through Pin 6.

Is this going to be operating at 400kHz or 2MHz? The inductor selection of 4.7uH makes sense for 400kHz but for 2MHz, you can probably reduce the inductor down since the ripple current should be lower at higher frequencies.

Everything else in the schematic looks OK.

    Regards,

    Jimmy

  • Hi, Jimmy

    Thank you for your answer.

There is no 1.5uH inductor due to the problem of supply and demand of parts, so I would like to apply a 4.7uH inductor first. Is there any

    problem?

First of all, we are aware of the occurrence of ripple.

    Are there any functional problems?

    Please, ASAP.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    MJ

  • Hi MJ,

There shouldn't be a problem with oversizing the inductor. I think it's just slightly bigger than what's usually recommended.

So long as the customer is following equation 8 and 9 (inductor selection) in the datasheet, it should be OK.

    Regards,

    Jimmy
