I am using TI Fusion Digital Power Designer Tool V7.6.1, and I am trying to set up current measurement for a bias current using 20 ohm resistor to measure milliampere range of current. Based on my Current sense amplifier Gain and Sense resistor value, I would need a Current Scaling factor of 20 ohm.
Under Rail configuration Tab in TI Digital Fusion Tool, I am trying to set "Iout Cal Gain" parameter in "Scaling" section of the window to 20 ohm or 20000mohm. According to the message displayed (shown below) I should be able to enter any value from 0.8mohm to 20,000 mohm for the "Iout Cal Gain" field, however it does save and return the value entered.
It seems like TI Fusion Tool automatically calculates and rounds up/down to some predefined discrete values based on their internal calculation and resolution. For example, some of the values the Tool can store are listed below. Any number in between will be rounded to these numbers before it stored them: 1760, 1886 2030, 2200, 2400, 2640, 2930
Also it seems as your "Iout Cal Gain" is higher the discrete values that is can store has huge gaps. for e.g. 6600, 8800, 13200
This is very frustrating. Please advise.
