Adding A Model To PSpice For TI

Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. However, the issue that I still have, is that I do not have any voltage regulator symbols in my library that is close to the model that I am importing. Therefore, when I do the part association, I end up with pin names that do not make sense.

Is there a way to create the 3rd party symbol and keep the original pin names of the model being imported?

Hello Nick,

When generating the part, please choose an arbitrary symbol. Once that is done and placed in the schematic, right click on the component and select "Edit Part." This will open a tab for modifying the symbol. From here you can draw any shape you like and verify the pins. The drawing tools for modifying the symbol are on the far right. This location may be inconvenient, but you can drag the toolbar to a better location with the strip of dots.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is not an intuitive flow and this is a good opportunity to improve the tool.

The issue that I am currently running into is as follows:

After generating a symbol for isl75052seh using an arbitrary/random 16-pin voltage regulator (NJM2351) that was already in the tool's library, I get asked the following question:

Do you want to attach default rectangular symbols to models without corresponding symbols in the destination symbol library?

If I choose Yes or No, I still get the error message: "Error(ORCAP-1653): Unable to load file C:\cadence\pspice\ISL75052SEH.OLB"

Do you have any idea why I am getting this error message?

I tried generating a symbol for isl75052seh using a different random 16-pin voltage regulator and I got the same error message.
