USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01: How to flash: USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01?

I am trying to flash USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 using this USB to I2C converter. But the hardware connection between the GUI is not connecting.

Also I tried using a USB type C cable, here also the GUI is not detecting the hardware.

During the above two state battery is connected to the J2 or battery input connector of USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01.

Please clarify the following.

Is that possible to flash the EEPROM in USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 the USB to I2C converter
Can I directly flash the EVK using the USB type C cable?
Is there any other flashing options in USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 than USB2ANY and Aardvark, since both are very costly.

Hello,

The easiest way to flash the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 is to use an EEPROM programmer such as the one below. The next alternative is to use the Aardvark. You may be able to program using the Type C Cable, but you would have to program code to send the binary through the pass through mode. I would strongly recommend the below solution or the Aardvark.

My AIM is to program the EEPROM in the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 EVK. From one of the E2E query I found as attached :

May I know after changing the EEPROM address, and wires from J8 header how can I connect (using which hardware device) with my laptop. For programming using the TPS25750 GUI programmer.

Hi,

This is Chuck. I support the TPS25750.

In order to use the programmer that you purchased, you will need to see if they have support the 24C eeprom programming available. If they do, then you can save off a binary file from theTPS25750D GUI, connect the SCL, SDA, and GND connections to the I2C port that has the EEPROM connected to it and follow the instructions of the programmer to program. You will need to ensure that the TPS25750D has power by connecting it to a type C power adapter.

If your USB 2 I2C chip does not have a driver for 24C eeproms, then I suggest looking for one that does. There are many variants of programmer, what is important to look for is that the programmer is 24C compatible.
