Hello.
At the start of SMBus communication, the gauge returns "0x04" after returning ACK, what is this?
Is this an "SBS Gauging Configuration"?

Hello,
Can you share a logic analyzer capture of what you're referring to? SMBus can use PEC and also depending on the command it will report the number of bytes it is going to read.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Hello,
The 0x04 indicates the number of bytes to read for an smbus read block command.
Best,
Jessica
