UCC2808-1: Dead Time setting

Part Number: UCC2808-1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25037

Customer is developing the push-pull with UCC2808x series, but they found when duty cycle is higher than 46%, the waveform will become abnormal. Thus, trying to adjust the RT/CT ratio to adjust the waveform.

The current test conditions are:

RT=2.5K Ohm

CT=1410 pF

Fsw=0.5 * 1.41/(RT*CT)=200KHz

Duty=46%

With above conditions, the waveform is ok. But we're worried if there is any risk with higher CT value or not because it is already over the SPEC definition.

In the other hand, is there new push-pull device you can suggest?

  • Hi,

    It looks your RT and CT selection not within Figure 1. I think you need to pick up numbers based on Figure 1 then the duty cycle should become ok.

    Another you may consider is LM25037. But no matter which, you would have to pick up numbers within recommended range.
