BQ25792: Connect USB to communicate with external equipment

Part Number: BQ25792

Hi Team,

When I using BC1.2 function of BQ25792, I need connect the D+/D- in USB port to D+/D- of BQ25792. when D+/D- of BQ25792 and USB are connected, if I want to use other chip connect USB port to communicate with external equipment, can I connect the D+/D- directly? In my view, I need add the USB switch to avoid effecting the communication between other chips and eternal equipment. So my question is that must use USB switch in my application or can connect the D+/D- directly?

Best Regards,

Gust

  • Hi Gust,

D+/D- are only automatically/independently active during the first 2 seconds after input power is applied.  After that, they go high impedance.  I have some customers who use a USB switch for complete isolation and others show wait the 2 seconds for bus communication.

    Regards,
