TPSM41625: Current limit set by ILIM pin open

Part Number: TPSM41625

Section 7.3.14 of the specifications states that the current limit of the TPSM41625 is internally set to 32A (typ.) by leaving the ILIM pin open.  TPSM41625 is a 4V to 16V input, 25A DC/DC Power Module per Section 7.1.  WEBENCH Power Designer circuits leave ILIM floating when simulating with a 25A load.  What value of ILIM resistor is correct for a 25A max load?

  • Hi,

We are looking into this and feedback to you on Monday US time.

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

Section 7.3.14 details the optional current limit selections available with the TPSM41625. In order to achieve a 25A current limit on the TPSM41625, is necessary to reduce the internal current limit of 32A by 7A, which represents a 21.8% reduction in the internal current limit setting. Using a 118kohm resistor per table 7-12 of the datasheet will reduce the current limit by 20% resulting in a current limit of 25.6A if that is acceptable.
