LM7310: Rating of EN/UVLO pin

Hi team,

My customer considers to use LM7310 and he is asking a question.

Is it okay to apply 5V to EN/UVLO pin even if Vin is not powered? Datasheet states abs mas is 6.5V(not like Vin + xxV). So it's no problem to apply certain voltage on EN/UVLO pin as long as it's within abs rating. Is this understanding correct?

Hi Shota,

Yes you can apply voltage on EN even if Vin=0. For this device recommended max is 5V. So you can continuously apply 5v at this pin. But you should not apply abs max voltage that is 6.5V for extended time period as it affects device reliability. Always operate device within recommended max.
