BQ25672EVM: Is TI Discontinuing Battery Management Products?

Part Number: BQ25672EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, BQ25798, BQ25672, BQ25792, EV2400, USB2ANY, TI-CHARGER-GUI

I'm trying to use the BQ25672EVM.  Do you have a Battery Management Studio Tool that will work with a modern OS like Windows 10? If not, why not? Are you discontinuing your Battery Management Products?

  • HI Carey,

The latest version of https://www.ti.com/tool/BQSTUDIO works with WIn10 or at least with the enterprise version of WIn10 we use at TI and the EV2400.  BQ25672 does not have its own BQSTUDIO BQZ file but you can use the BQ25792 (no MPP option) or BQ25798 (with MPP option) BQZ.  I have attached the BQ25798 BQZ which you will need to copy to the BQSTUDIO config folder with the other BQZ files.https://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/4336.Charger_5F00_2_5F00_00_2D00_bq25798.bqz

BQ25672 was intended to be controlled using the online GUI composer at the link below with the USB2ANY box not EV2400 as mentioned.

  • OK, the TI-CHARGER-GUI online Evaluation tool works. I was trying to use the Battery Management Studio App which didn't work even though the USB2ANY was able to read and write registers.

    Thank you,
