The half charge current mode of the BQ24071 and it doesn’t seem to work on the eval board.
I’ve got 4.3V fed into the AC supply input. No load on the output. A battery sitting at 3.0V, and R6 on the eval board changed to 2K for 0.5A charging current.
According to the data sheet Page 17, last full paragraph of the Battery Charge Current section “The charge level, during AC mode operation only (Mode = High), can be changed by a factor of 2 by setting the ISET2 pin high (full charge) or low (half charge).”.
Using JMP1 of the eval board I am changing ISET2 between Vi and GND and there is no change in the output current. It remains at 0.5A.
JMP2 is putting Vin on the MODE pin.
If I change the MODE pin to GND on JMP2 and put the device into its USB mode, the currents do change with the setting of JMP1.
What am I doing wrong?
