Hello TI,
We are using 4 Parallel cell for our application, can i connect separate NTC for each cell..? if yes, How to connect and value of NTC.
We are using BQ27542 in our BMS we want monitor each cell temperature, how i can monitor the cell temperature ..?

Hello Rahul,

You will not be able to monitor multiple parallel cells with the gauge you are using. I would recommend setting up your own temperature measurement scheme if you need to measure multiple cells in parallel.

Hello Rahul,

If you want to implement temperature monitoring with up to 4 TS pins, you can use the BQ40z50 which can read temperature from up to 4 sensors.

Otherwise you will have to implement your own temperature sensing scheme. You may have to look at our temperature sensors and contact that team by linking one of their products to get more input from just the temperature side.

We can't change fuel gauge now, Can you send me to any reference design by my own temperature sensing scheme design
Which help us to consider BQ27542 in design

Hello Rahul,

I would recommend looking at the temperature sensor selection TI has, you will not be able to measure all the temperatures you need with the gauge, you will need an external MCU with temperature sensors for your system. Depending on your accuracy needed and your MCU capabilities you can just use a thermistor with your MCU ADC to measure all the cells temperature.
