  • Hi Xiaoqiang,

For chargers, this will depend on a lot of different parameters such as cell count, input voltage, output power, etc.

However, from what I can see from your descriptions (single cell, charge current < 2 A), you do not need to use the BQ25731 in your application. BQ25731 is a controller targeted for high power operations.

I would recommend one of the integrated chargers in our portfolio:

For step-down only applications, you can select a buck part. For step-up only applications, you can select a boost part. If both step-up and step-down are needed, I would recommend the BQ2579x family which is our integrated buck boost chargers.

Our group handles the charger ICs and are not the experts on battery monitor ICs. I recommend starting a new thread with a battery monitor part and start the conversation with the experts on the battery gauge/monitor team.

Thanks and I hope this helps,

    Peng
