since LMG3410EVM-018 + LMG34XX-BB-EVM is for half bridge topology.
in order to evaluate the GaN device on UCC28019A evm, I would suggest to follow below steps.
1. You can LMG34XX-BB-EVM to generate 5V for supply of ISO7731
2.use the LMG3410EVM-018 for the low side GaN device supply.
3.Suggest to disconnect INA of U3 in the LMG3410EVM-018
4. since the input range of ISO7731 should be below VCC, please add zener diode(4.7V) between UCC28019A and the ISO7731.

sorry, a typo. the GaN evm is LMG3410EVM-031.
but I think that your suggestion is still the same, right?
-follow your suggestion to modify the board.
-plug the LMG3410EVM-031 to LMG34XX-BB-EVM
-provide 12V to J6 on LMG34XX-BB-EVM
-bout item 4, just connect gate pin from UCC28019A to J3 of LMG34XX-BB-EVM, right?
how to connect power from the UCC28019A EVM to LMG34XX-BB-EVM?

when you change to 031EVM, item 3 of my suggestion can be removed.
you should connect UCC20819A +4.7v Clamped diode (my item 4 suggestion), and please make sure the ground trace also connect from LMG34XX-BB-EVM and UCC28019A EVM.
you can use Q2 PIN 27(VDD) for the UCC28019A EVM supply.

Let me summary the modification.
1. plug the LMG3410EVM-031 to LMG34XX-BB-EVM
2. connect UCC20819A pin 8 +4.7v Clamped diode to J1 pin5 in LMG3410EVM-031 and please make sure the ground trace also connect from LMG34XX-BB-EVM and UCC28019A EVM.
3. share the same 12V with UCC28019A EVM supply.
4. connect the drain and source side from LMG3410EVM-031 to UCC20819A EVM.
is my understanding correct?

Hi David,
after all jump wire.
it works at the test condition below.
-vin: 115
-Vo:391V
-Io:0.1A
But the UCC28019A would stop when loading increases
CH1: IN_L (the voltage high is 12V, not 200mV)
CH2: Source
below one is the measurement for IN_L with correct voltage.
Any idea where it's wrong?

can you please check whether the controller triggers ocp protection on Isense pin? because the GaN is much fast than Si Mosfet, I am a little worry about the noise on Isense pin.
other suggestion here is try to reduce the GaN speed on the pin 30 of the GaN.

Customer removes the LMG3410EVM-031. They found the UCC28019A evm already has issue. Maybe the UCC28019A is damaged.
I will apply the UCC28019A sample to replace the one on EVM.
