BQ25703A: BQ25703A

Part Number: BQ25703A

Hello, I assembled two PCB's using baseline of the evaluation board and I am having following issue:

Charger does not provide more than 1600mA to the battery and above that value the inductor starts emitting sound like a buzzer and current register is unstable. My design is a copy of the evaluation board of this device. Please need help to understand what is causing this and hw to fix it. In fact I assembled 2 PCB's and both have same issue (both are set for using 3 cell 10.8V Li-ion battery). Attached is my schematic.

This happened in both PCB's but after a while one of them stopped working even having 12V at VIN or VBUS the device do nothing, charger OK LED does not turn on and I dont have voltages at VREGIN.

Also no I2C comms allowed.

Thank youCHARGER_MODULE_FOR_PWR_DIST_REVA.pdf

  • Hi,

    Thanks for reaching out.

There are not a lot of info on your schematic that I can look at (no values for passive components).

    I would recommend:

    1. Double check your values with the EVM once again.

    2. Refer to the EVM layout.

    3. Get an EVM to evaluate and compare if you haven't done so already.

Thanks and I hope this helps,
