Hello,

I'm trying to make my own BMS (with a BQ77PL900) based on the EVM schematic.

Is it inevitable to have the configuration pins "outside", I mean in an hardware way ? Or is there another way to configure the amount of cells with the serial communication, in a software way ?

I want to be allow to change the cell configuration of the BMS and prevent somebody else to modify it by outside.

    Hi Evan,

    The configuration pins are on the BQ77PL900 package, it does not have a method to set the configuration by register.  You could use a serial to parallel converter IC, but the pins would still be accessible on the package on the PCB.
