Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC2854
In the original version of the IC (UC2854) Multiplier current was limited to 3.75V/RSET.
In this version of the IC, the datasheet indicates that maximum multiplier current is limited to 2xIAC.
However, I am curious what limits the multiplier in addition to this. For example, If I allow 250uA into IAC at highline, can I expect 500uA to still be the limit on the multiplier current, or is there some other internal absolute limit on the Multiplier current? For now, lets assume VA and VRMS are high enough that they are not factors in the overall Mult current limit.
The datasheet gives various Mout conditions, none of which show IMout exceeding 200uA. There is a line 'power limited' that shows 200uA typ under conditions of VRMS=1.5V and Va=6V, with the assumption in the section header that IAC is 100uA. Is this datasheet entry trying to tell me that I'm limited to 200uA regardless of what 2xIAC is, or is this entry just again showing me that the limit is 2xIAC given that IAC is 100uA.
