Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25895, BQ21061
Hello,
I'm having an issue that the gauge BQ27421-G1 does not report the correct SoC.
This is the summary of the issue:
How we are setting up the gauge:
* Firmware sets design capacity to the rated capacity of the battery.
* Charge the battery by a battery tester till it reaches 100% (the tester measured the energy flown into the battery).
* Fully discharge the battery by leaving it on until it turns off itself.
* Charge the battery to 50% then the firmware enable shipmode of the charger. (We are having 2 PCBs, 1 is using BQ25895, the other is using BQ21061).
* Later on in the production line, we found that some PCBs report (via LED) it's low battery (< 5%, read by average current value from BQ27421-G). Our engineer opened it then checked the battery by a battery tester, then we found that the actual remaining SoC is still 50%.\
We are wondering whether a full cycle of charge-discharge is already enough for the gauge to learn the battery or we still have to do some kinds of calibration during the production line. Could you please help us to confirm this? And if we have to do any calibrations, could you please redirect us to the document of procedures how to calibrate in production?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Luck
