BQ25710: requirement for capacitor at COMPx

Hi team,

My customer is considering multisource for some ceramic capacitors, then the recommended value or requirement for COMPx capacitors is necessary as a criteria. How they choose these capacitors? Is there specific ESR, frequency characteristic and DC bias requirement?

COMP1 = 33pF
COMP2 = 680pF

Hi Kazuto-san,

No there are not very stringent requirements when it comes to picking those caps. Typically, standard ceramic caps are fine. However, it is recommended to refer to the EVM for the rated capacitance values.

Hi Peng,

Is my understanding below correct?

"Generic ceramic capacitor" selected by capacitance and DC rating is typically okay to use as compensation capacitor.

However for the safety, the capacitor has the similar ESR and Z at Fsw compare to the capacitor on EVM (GRM1555C1H330JA01D, GRM1555C1H681JA01D) is better to use.
