BQ78350-R1: Overload current and FitMaxSOC, FitMinSOC, LearnSOC effect on CEDV Coefficient calculation.

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Hi,

I am logging data at 5A and 15A for the CEDV calculations.

Wanted to know will Overload Current in fuel gauge class effect the coefficients?

Since it was default set at 5A and my discharge current is greater than that will it effect the CEDV coefficients? I assume it should not as these coefficient are calculated with current, voltage and temperature data.

What should be FitMaxSOC %, FitMinSOC% and LearnSOC%? On what factors should one select these values for better SOC estimation?

Thanks,

Vinay Kambappa

  • Hi Vinay,

It seems your questions are related to GPC tools.

The CEDV coefficient does not depend on the gauge setting it is derived from the V, I, T information  as you expected.

FitMax, FitMin  should bound the knee of the SOC curve and the LearnSOC point selected.  If you have a cell with SOC curve which is very flat you may want to lower those, otherwise the default should be ok.   See https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/SLUUB45B section 2.1 if you lost the default.  Your logs should discharge to or through the SOC points
