BQ40Z50-R1: BQ40Z50R1-XCHG TERMINATION

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi

We have designed  a BQ40Z50-r1 4S1P Battery Pack.

i have two queries which is as follows

1.We have Uploaded a ,gg file and updated the battery chemistry , then we have charge at 1A,the battery is charging but when we give more than 1.5 A the battery charging gets terminates automatically and XCHG bits get enabled and cuts the charging of battery. The Battery protection parameters are not enabled at the time of charging at 1.5A.

2.Likewise i have done learning cycle on one battery pack and i have exported the .srec file The Same .SREC file can be used to program other packs without doing a learning cycle on those packs.

Expecting the reply at the earliest.

Regards

ANANDAN

  • Hi Anandan,

    1. Can I get a log for this behavior and a .gg.csv file?

    2. Yes, the same .srec file can be used to program other devices.

  • Hi Albert

    Thanks for the Reply

I have uploaded the . gg file for your reference.

    4S1P5SWS-BD-14.4V, 3200MAH.gg.csv

I have not logged the Charging cycle.

    Expecting your reply

  • Hi Anandan,

It's difficult to say what the issue is without a log as there could be a number of factors at play here. If you could try to get a log with BQStudio that would be much appreciated.

  • Thanks

during the extraction of .srec file. is it necessary to change the Update status.(after learning cycle it is 0E).whether the same can be uploaded right in all the battery packs??

we need to change the Cycle count values while extraction of .SREC file?

After loading the file the battery can be used to connect the Loads ??

WHETHER ONE BATTERY PACK  SUCEESIVE LEARNING CYCLE IS ENOUGH TO  EXTRACT .SREC FILE  AND TO BE LOADED IN REMAINING BATTERIES??

  • Anandan,

It isn't necessary to change the update status. If you have completed learning for one battery pack you can use that for other packs of the same type.

I don't believe this is necessary either - whether you reset the cycle count value shouldn't make much of a difference since it's when the cycle count gets updated that's more important. In any case resetting the count value from 1 (acquired from the learning cycle) to 0 shouldn't affect gauge behavior much.

Yes, you can use the battery to connect to the load.

Yes, a successful learning cycle should be enough.
