Hey Team,
I am looking into an applications using the LM5164-Q1 with a typical output current of 250mA - 400mA. With this output current, we have calculated that a large inductor will be needed to achieve CCM - Something like 220uH.
We would prefer to use a lower inductance and so we are assuming that it will operate in pulse skipping mode (if half of ripple current > load current) with frequency defined by Rron. We are thinking that we will need to add a snubber to attenuate the ringing.
- Does this operation summary sound correct?
- Could you help me to understand what the negative side effects might be if operating in this mode?
Best,
Dajon McGill
