TPS1H100-Q1: Open Load detection

Part Number: TPS1H100-Q1

Hello Experts,

I have a question as follows. Would you please answer it?
1. Can open load detection disable when DIAG_EN is "high"? Customer would like to know the over current condition only, he does not need the indication of open load condition when switch is active.
2. The datasheet stated the deglitch time of the open load detection(tol.on). The tol,on means that the time of /ST-pin voltage changing(H=>L) if device detect the open load condition, correct?
3. Do you have 1ch device which is same open load detection feature of TPS2H000A?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Hi Fujiwara-san,

Let me try to answer the questions.

    1. It can't be disabled, however, you can differentiate if it's an open load or overcurrent during ON state. During on state, if CS pin is pulled to 0, then it's most likely an open load condition; if CS is pulled up to Vcs,h, then it will be overcurrent. During OFF state, if the CS pin is pulled up to Vcs,h, then it's an open load.

    2. That's correct. The open load time needs to be longer than Tol,on for the ST pin to go low.

    3. What about TPS1H000A?

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

    Regards,

    Yichi
