TPS54336A: Alternate/Replacement recommendation

Considering that I am unable to find stock anywhere, is there a recommended drop-in replacement? The design requires an input range of 8 to 18V, output is 8V at 3A. The package is the SOIC8 with exposed pad (DDA).

Going froward, is there an alternate part that would be recommended. Of key importance is long term availability.

For the immediate requirement, neither of these is a direct drop-in for the current layout.

For any future design, neither of these is in a good position. There is very limited quantity with expected delivery slated for mid 2022. Even TI has very limited quantity. I would not be comfortable in using any of these for a new design.

1. Yes, there is no pin2pin device which can replace TPS54336A directly.

2. I recommend TPS62933, TPS54302, TPS56339 for your future design.

From my viewpoint, the TPS62933 is too new, the TPS56339 has a max out of 7V and thus won't meet my requirement.

However, the TPS54302 looks promising and I will pursue that. I still have reservations as it appears to be available only after February of '22. That's too late for our prototype cycle.
