UCD9240

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9240

Hi,

I have a question about the configuration of UCD9240.

After I configured UCD9240, the data was stored inside UCD9240 and I don't need to configure it again for next power up.

   Is my understanding right?

Thanks,

  • Tony,
You are correct.  The UCD92xx devices follow the PMBus standard.  It states that the device is configured by writing to volatile registers/memory, then when you are satisfied with the configured operation of the controller, you store all these settings to non-volatile memory and they are applied on the next power-up.  The PMBus command to do this is called STORE_DEFAULT_ALL.

When using the Fusion Digital Power Designer program, you write to the volatile registers by clicking the "Write to Hardware" button.  To permanently store the settings to non-volatile memory, cliick the "Store RAM to FLASH"  button.
