TPS6594-Q1: The Power output abnormal of TPS65941212RWERQ1 and TPS65941111RWERQ1

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM

Hi Team,

We have a design that uses TI's TDA4VM processor.

In TI's reference design, both TPS65941212RWERQ1 and TPS65941111RWERQ1 were used as PMICs.

When the ECU is powered on, the power rails of the two PMICs can be output normally, but after 100ms, the power supply of the main domain is completely shuted.

However, the power of the MCU domain can be output normally. TDA4VM seems to have entered MCU Only mode, I don’t know what caused it.

The following is the schematic diagram of the power supply part of TDA4VM, please help analyze the cause of the problem, thank you!

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

Conn XU

  • Hi Conn,

      Please make following corrections:

    1. PMIC-A U600 FB_B3 needs to be connected with the 1.1V rail named "VDD_DDR_1V1".
    2. PMIC-B U700 VSYS_SENSE pin51 needs to be connected to GND.

Please let's know if you have further questions.

    Thanks!

    Phil

  • Hi Phil,

The PMIC-A U600 FB_B3 has be connected with the 1.1V rail named "VDD_DDR_1V1".

The PMIC-B U700 VSYS_SENSE pin51 has be connected to GND.

    However, the problem still exists.

  • Hi Conn,

Can you please read register addresses from 0x5A to 0x6C to check the interrupts which can tells the cause of shutdown?

    Thanks!

    Phil
