TPS65313-Q1: will it work with 5V power supply

Hi There,

May I check with you whether device TPS65313-Q1 could work with 5V power supply? We are trying to use TPS65313_Q1+TPS65653-Q1 for AWR1843 power supply solution.

From the datasheet of TPS65313-Q1, it seems the input voltage range is from 4V to 36V. But chapter 6.3 "Recommended Operation Condition", it shows minimum power up input voltage is 5.8V...

and the supply voltage monitor will consider 5.8 ~ 6.6V is UV. In my design, ENDRV/nIRQ is not used. So I assume even with this UV condition, it has no impact to me.

So I want to confirm with you:

1. will TPS65313-Q1 work if the power supply is 5 V?

2. if there is no external MCU to do any SPI config to TPS65313Q1, could it still provide 3.3V,1.8V normally? I understand the ENDRV/nIRQ is not usable in this condition as the chip will stay in "SAFE" state.

Hello,

1. TPS65313-Q1 will not power up if input supply is 5V (or below 6V). To power up, it needs minimum 6V input, but after it powered up, then input supply voltage can go down to 4V and PMIC will still work , but full performance is guaranteed only between 6V to 18V.

2. If SPI is not available, PMIC will end up in safe mode, but it will continue to provide the supply voltages, but ENDRV cannot be released. So, depending on the application/use case, it might work. 1.8V output voltage version for BUCK2 is not released and currently we only have BUCK2 with 1.2V output option available.

One more thing: any alternative chips which can boot with 5V?

Or use LP87524-Q1 PMIC directly. another option is to use pre regulator + LP87702-Q1 PMIC.

Our current design is using LP87702Q1. Due to the parts unavailable for quite some time, I am currently looking for new power solution. That is why I am looking into TPS65313Q1
