BQ24210: BQ24210 for two batteries in parallel

Can BQ24210 be used for charging 2 Li-ion batteries in parallel? I know in the datasheet it says "single-cell", but what may happen if it is used to charge 2 parallel batteries? If it just takes a longer time to fully charged 2 batteries, that would be acceptable. What may be the other consequences?

Hello Ross,

No issue charging two cells in parallel. The charger still sees 1 cell in series (this would be a 1S2P configuration). You would be able to charge the battery up to 2x the single cell rating (assuming the series impedance for each cell is the same).
