TPS756: Schematic review for TPS75601

Part Number: TPS756

Hi team we are using TPS75601KTTT to generate 2.5V from 3.3V. I have attached the image which shows the connection. May I request you to review the same

I also request you to review the output capacitors

470uF part number : TPSD476K020R0200

  • Hi Keerthana,

The recommended design procedure is to chose R2=30.1K for the resistive network to set a 40uA divider current. You can use lower values, like the values you have, since they are set correctly for 2.5V, however lower values will waste more power. Below are the recommended values from the data sheet:

TPS756 requires a minimum of 47uF capacitance with 0.2Ohm ESR. Your capacitor meets this requirements, however, ESR is dependent of frequency and temperature, I would keep this in mind. As long as the capacitance and ESR product equals 9.4e-6 or larger, the LDO will be stable  Take a look at the following plot which can help choosing values.

To be on the safe side I recommend using higher ESR capacitors, since its really close to the minimum requirements. You can look into our Application Note: Simplifying Stability Checks to help checking for stability in your system if needed.

    Best,

    Edgar Acosta
