CSD19535KTT: Checking the MOSFET SAFE operating area for Motor Control Application

Part Number: CSD19535KTT

Hello,

I'm using CSD19535KTT for BLDC Motor control application,

Voltage 48V  and Peak Current 42A

I have gone through the TI training videos and blog post regarding MOSFET selection,

As mention in datasheet Rds on 3.2mOhm

so Vds=0.0032*42 i.e. Vds=0.1344V

Power=0.0032*42842 Power=5.64W; Temperature at case = 2.82 degree rise

I have few query's related to reading  SOA of MOSFET

1. The Vds=48V and I'm using 10khz switching Freq T=100uS pulse Max. so if I check the SOA of MOSFET on x-axis 50V and consider 100uS pulse, so I'm getting 60A

 is this method id correct to interpreted the relation between the Vds and  Id for safe operating.

2.As mention in datasheet Rds on 3.2mOhm

so Vds=0.0032*42  i.e. Vds=0.1344V so the respective drain current is only 25A approx.

please clarify

Thanking You
