PMIC Question Asking

Hi Team,

My customer want to find the POL and PMIC, and he find the MPS MP2329GG-Z, MP5496GR-0002,
I am wondering if it is possible to replace them to TI solution, I use BOM & cross reference tool and TI.com but I don't find the P2P solution.
Do you have recommend solution for customer?

  • Hi Jason,

Can you provide specific rail and power requirements? It's unlikely we have a p2p match for a competitor device, but we may have a PMIC that matches the voltage, sequencing, and # of rail requirements.

    Best,
    Emily

  • Hi Emily,

    Thanks for your kindly help.
Sorry, the customer doesn't provide the schematic of this IC to me, I know we have the PMIC matches the voltage, and I told to the customer, but he doesn't want to change the layout in the first version. But I'd like to know if TI have any P2P solution and I can try to persuade the customer.
So TI  have matched voltage and doesn't have any p2p solution right?
this figure is the rail of this IC, I am not sure if it is useful to you.

another question is do we have p2p solution for MP2329GG-Z, this is POL IC.
can you help me to check this IC?

    Best Regard

    Jason

  • Jason,

The closest option I can think of that can support the same high load as the MP5496GR-002 or MP2329GG-Z is the LP8758-Ex family (quad buck). This device is factory programmable, I2C configurable, but not user programmable. So they would either need a new orderable, an existing spin to match, or I2C re-configuration at each power up. There is no released LP8758-Ex spin with matching Vouts to your diagram, but LP8758-EA has all 4 bucks set to 0.8V and is available for I2C re-configuration at each start-up if that's a possibility for them.

    Best,
    Emily

  • Hi Emily,

    Thanks for your kindly help.

    I got it.
