BQ35100: Has TI prepared chemID for LSH20 now?

Hi Team,

My customer considers using BQ35100 for SAFT LSH20 (Li-SOCl2)
I found the following thread that was posted over 1 year ago.

Hello Yaita,

You may download the latest chemistry files from https://www.ti.com/tool/GASGAUGECHEM-SW and check if this cell has been added.

In addition, there is the GPCCHEM tool where you can upload a log file and get the closest match. The matching process applies to primary cells even though it may not be explicitly mentioned. If none of these are satisfactory, then you can post on e2e requesting characterization.

Hi Shirish-san,

I downloaded the latest chemistry files however couldn't find SAFT LSH20 (Li-SOCl2).

Regarding GPCCHEM tool, is it correct we can use the GPCCHEM tool for BQ35100?
There was no information in other E2E threads that GPCCHEM tool can be used for BQ35100.
I believe GPCCHEM can be used for Impedance Track gauges but BQ3500 is End-Of-Service gauge.
In addition, LSH20 is a primary battery and the instruction for the GPCCHEM is for a rechargeable battery.

bq35100 can be used for two different kinds of cells - Li/MnO2 or Li/ thionyl-chloride. For first one (Li/MnO2), OCV profile is reasonably steep so it uses OCV correlation, so GPCCHEM tool can be used to determine closest match.

But for Li/ thionyl chloride cells the voltage is completely flat and so gauge uses impedance correlation. Since impedance correlation is very cell specific, we need to release chem ID for each cell when this method is used. So you will have to submit your cell for chemical ID creation, as ID was not created before for this cell.
