TPS2663: Remove reverse current detection function

Is the difference between TPS2663 and TPS1663 only if there is the function of reverse current protect or not ? If there are any differences, please let me know.

And if the reverse current happens, how does TPS1663 work ?

We will promote TPS1663 in stead of TPS2663 but customer has already evaluated and they might just want to know how to remove reverse current function with TPS2663. Do you have any idea for that ?

In my understanding, TPS2663 will detect the reverse current condition because of the comparator threshold at just 15mV and issue the fault signal but the reverse current itself would be bypassed by placing shot key barrier diode because of smaller VF than internal plastic diode.

Is that correct ?

Hi Michiaki,

Bypass schottky diode would help diverting the reverse current instead of the flowing through the body diode of the internal MOSFET.

Let me clarify the operation with schottky diode at reverse current condition.

1. Reverse protection comparator detect the negative voltage and issue fault signal
2. The reverse current will bypass with schotkky diode.
3. Until removing reverse current condition, fault signal is remained.
