TPS40170: Iripple value calculation

Hello,

I think you're referring to Equation 20 in the datasheet. Iripple = 1.86A is the inductor peak-to-peak ripple current (which is usually 30-40% of rated Iout at Vin-nom).

See the calculation in Equation 19 for more context where an inductance of 8.5uH is derived. The ripple current is then calculated as 1.86A based on a selected inductance of 8.2uH.

That's the approximate calculation -- the exact result may differ when including MOSFET Rdson and inductor DCR.
