BQ28Z610EVM-532: Dashboard can't work

Hello

This is Reus From TI customer of Taiwan, I have a question of the BQ28Z610EVM-532. When the demo board is connection with PC, the interface has show the demo board message. but in the few second, the interface is show that is disconnect with demo board. But put the S1 button is connect again and a few second is disconnect. what is demo board happened?

Hello Lin,

The gauge goes to sleep mode (FET turned off) in approximately 20 seconds if there is no charge or discharge current detected for this time. Connect a charger to keep the gauge awake.

Thanks for your reply. But the gauge goes to sleep mode in 4 to 5 sec. Can the gauge define sec of sleep mode?

Sleep is detailed in TRM https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluua65d/sluua65d.pdf section 5.3

Data memory configuration is in section 13.5.3

Bus timeout is in class Power Sleep 0x4613 Bus Timeout U1 0 255 5 s

I have follow to your provide information to set, but it also to disconnect with demo board after 5 sec again. The other question is when I was disconnected cell but the bqstudio is can't search the demo board.

Hello Lin,

Can you send your settings?

The cell provides power for gauge operation, so it cannot be disconnected when using with bqStudio.

Hello Lin,

Thanks. The sleep timeout is set at 5s and sleep current is 10mA. You can change the timeout or have a current flow of >10mA to keep the gauge awake.

Thanks for you marking issue. I have modified the sleep value, but that is not work, still disconnect after 5 sec.

Please refer section 2.3 of https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluube3/sluube3.pdf for EVM connections and verify that it matches.

Section 5.3 SLEEP Mode of the TRM describes the conditions for sleep mode. Perhaps you have IN_SYS_SLEEP set. Please review all the settings for Sleep mode.
