Hello Experts,
Can this device work 2 phase without PMBus? Customer would like to set Vout=0.905V by pin strap only. Is it possible?

Hi Fujiwara,
This is possible to use the device in a 2phase configuration with pin strap only. Setting VOUT to 0.905V may require an external divider since the VSEL pin can be set for 0.9V. This would mean the external divider should be configured such that 0.9V is presented to the VOSNS pin.

Hi Alec,
Sorry, I don't understand how to achieve Vout=0.905V with pin strap only. Would you please explain more specifically? e.g. resistor divider value and where the resistor divider is placed.
Best Regards,
Fujiwara
Hi Fujiwara,
Would the customer accept 0.9V out with <1% deviation? This can achieve an output voltage between 0.891V and 0.909V without the use of the divider. Using pin strap only can program the output voltage to 0.9V without an external divider. Using a resistor divider from VOUT->VOSNS->GOSNS at the point of load to present 0.9V to the VOSNS pin can achieve 0.905V at the output with pin strap only. However, adding the divider externally combined with the internal divider may cause further inaccuracy due to resistor tolerances. That is why I would recommend the 0.9Vout setting if that voltage with the +/- 1% spec is acceptable.

Hi Alec,
Thank you for clarification.
If customer can use PMBus output voltage can be set 0.905V? What is minimum resolution of output voltage setting by PMbus?
Best Regards,
Fujiwara
Hi Fujiwara,
Using PMBUS, the output voltage may be adjusted with a resolution of typically 1.95mV.
