TPS2546: Tps2546 spec question

Part Number: TPS2546

Hi

In TPS2546

1. based on the datasheet table3: truth table, i saw status pin column show off, does it mean status output pin is disable? and can i say status pin will be enable when ILIM_SEL is high?

2.i saw datasheet mention that if ILIM_SEL is always high, we do not care RILIM_LO, does it mean ILIM_LO only work in ILIM_SEL=high condition?

3. from section 6.5, it shows some Ios parameter. In the test condition, it mention ILIM_SEL=VIN and RILIM_HI= 20 kΩ you can get Ios parameter. if my ILIM_SEL=3.3v(not 4.4<vin<5.5), is there different result? i mean RILIM_HI have different value to achieve the same Ios? if it will change, can i know how to fine tune it?

4.for wake up function, i saw datasheet set current limit by ILIM_HI and Ios_pw for no load detect. Can i know where is Ios_pw or how to know it work?

  • Kevin,

Sorry I didn't realize which device this was. We will get to this early next week.

  • Hi Kevin,

    1. based on the datasheet table3: truth table, i saw status pin column show off, does it mean status output pin is disable? and can i say status pin will be enable when ILIM_SEL is high?

That is correct. When the TPS2546 is configured in a mode where the STATUS functionality is off, the STATUS pin will remain HI

2.i saw datasheet mention that if ILIM_SEL is always high, we do not care RILIM_LO, does it mean ILIM_LO only work in ILIM_SEL=high condition?

No, this just means that if you have ILIM_SEL always tied HI, then the ILIM_HI value will always be used so you do not need to connect a resistor to the ILIM_LO pin since it will not be used.

    3. from section 6.5, it shows some Ios parameter.

No the result will be the same.

4.for wake up function, i saw datasheet set current limit by ILIM_HI and Ios_pw for no load detect. Can i know where is Ios_pw or how to know it work?

Look at section 6.7 for the load detect values
