BQ24253: NRND Plans

Part Number: BQ24253
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25619E

Hi. My customer is looking for alternatives to wants to BQ25619E and wants to know the status of BQ24253 and if there are any plans to NRND the device.

Thanks

  • Hi Vanessa,

No plans to NRND the BQ24253.  Keep in mind that the D+/D- detection locks the input current limit at startup and the input current limit cannot be changed without toggling the EN1 and EN2 lines.  On this device. if D+/D- detects a USB BC1.2 SDP, the charger locks the input current limit to 100mA.  Is that enough current to power up the system processor until it's GPIOs can toggle EN1 and EN2 to increase the input current limit?

    Regards,

    Jeff

  • Hi Jeff. I passed the information onto the customer. Thank you for the help
