Hi Team,

My customer is  using LM2596S-12 to generate -12 Volt supply. They have done the layout as per guideline provided in datasheet. Please help  to review this section specially for -12V and share your feedback.

PCB Layers: 4 layer FR4 material used

Designed considering load on -12V is 200mA.

    Hi Shinu,

    Be sure to use direct connections to to planes rather than thermal reliefs. 

    The output capacitance should be increased, consult table 9-3 in the datasheet for suggested output capacitor values. 

    The datasheet contains information regarding how to use this device in an inverting buck-boost configuration (See section 8.3.3) so be sure to consult this as well.

    Routing the Output pin to the inductor through a via is not the best choice here. See the device user guide for a good layout example for this version of the device.
