BQ25792: Unavailability of BQ25792IC in online electronics distributors

Dear TI expert,

For my application of 3S lithium ion battery charger with I2C communication , previously some TI experts suggests me BQ25792 IC for 3S Lithium ion battery charging and I purchased an Evaluation module of BQ25792EVM. I almost completed the Testing of Evaluation module with battery simulator and Real Lithium Ion battery. Presently i am going to make our own PCB for the charger, But Currently the BQ25792 IC is unavailable in online electronics distributors and also in TI stocks. So, My development of battery charger PCB module is stopped.So,please help me to give some samples of BQ25792 IC for the continuation of my present work.

Unfortunately, we don't have any ICs. Please click "Notify me when available" to sign up for notification. You will get an email notification once the units are back in stock. TI is doing the best to restock the units, but we don’t have an expected date.

Hi Jeff,

Previously I selected this IC From your suggestion "">e2e.ti.com/.../3695327

We are using this BQ25792IC in battery back up system of Data concentrator unit(DCU) for advanced meter infrastructure(AMI) applications. we need to complete 10 proto models with in this year for the utility. We are ready to purchase this through TI Stocks or online distributors.But every where it is unavailable. so,please help to provide some samples of BQ25792IC for our present development.

Hi Jeff,

BQ24179 is available in electronic distributers. is it ok to replace BQ25792IC with BQ24179. what are the main difference in these two ICs other than no.of pins and package.Also is it BQ24179 support BQSTUDIO test software with EV2400.

Hi Muhammed,

The BQ24179 is in chip scale package and is a downspin of BQ25790. It does not have OTG. The BQ25790_2 BQZ will work for the BQ24179.
