LM5155: Question for LM5155 Inverting Application

Hi Team,

Our customer wants to use LM5155 for inverting application as below requirements, can you help to check if we can achieve it? If not, is there any other suitable solutions recommended? Thanks.

Input voltage: 12V

Output voltage: -7~-10V

Output current: 8A maximum

    Hello Jacky,

    The LM5155 can be used for this application, but then I recommend a flyback converter to invert the voltage.

    If the customer does not want to use a transformer and does not need isolation, he would need to use a buck controller to create a negative voltage instead of a boost controller.
