BQ76952: TS2 Wakeup Circuit

Part Number: BQ76952

A 10k resistor is shown inline with the nWake switch on both EVAL board schematics but I can find no mention of it in the datasheet. What is the function of this and would it still be suggested if nWAKE were driven from a 3.3V MCU GPIO (5V tolerant)?

Thank you.

  • Hi Craig,

The 10 k resistor R29 on the BQ76952EVM would simulate a room temperature for TS2 if a shunt is installed on J7 pins 2-3 and the pin is configured as a thermistor temperature sensor.  The 10k pull down will overcome the ROH pull up resistance to wake the part.  If you are waking from a MCU you don't need the 10k.
