TPS7B7701-Q1: Dual channel version as alternative component.

Part Number: TPS7B7701-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7B7702-Q1

Hello TI experts.

Is it correct approach to use TPS7B7702-Q1 as BOM alternative component for TPS7B7701-Q1 in automotive E-CALL application?

Current PCB is routed for single channel version. So

I don't see any problems to leave second channel's pins unconnected. But it would be great to get expert's point of view.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Ivan,

Are you using the current sensing feature? Also, are you grounding the NC pins or leaving them floating? I don't believe there is any issue with doing this, but my only concern would be in regards to the SEN_SEL being left floating. I think there's an internal 10-uA pulldown but I need to verify. I have an EVM so I can go test this.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Ivan,

SEN_SEL does have an internal pulldown circuit. There is no issue with using TPS7B7702-Q1 as you have described.

    Nick
